Product Development Director
The selected candidate must be able to report to an Anthem office as needed for business reasons when necessary. Preferred locations: ME, NH, CT, NY, GA, IN, OH, KY, VA. **Currently Anthem associates are W@H until we return to offices.
The Product Development Director will report to the Digital Solutions team in the Commercial Segment.
Responsible for generating product concepts, leading product development initiatives, and partnering with clients and matrix partners to deliver product solutions for new and existing markets of consumer engagement and capabilities for all Commercial segments and integration with the clinical, provider, claims, and membership systems.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Leads strategy and implementation of new products or product changes/enhancements for all Commercial segments and regions.
Monitors product performance and the competitive environment to ensure products meet competitive and legislative needs.
Adheres to product development policies and processes to guide product development.
Responsible for innovation and development of products for both new and existing markets.
Coordinates presentation, communication, and implementation of all phases of product development.
Ensures all products are compliant with regulatory directives and state/federal laws and policies.
Serves as a product expert and a relationship manager to the core clients.
Collaborates with matrix partners across the company to deliver product solutions in a timely and effective manner. Monitor competitive, regulatory, economic, and other environments to gauge product impacts or opportunities.

Works with the business to understand, rank, and prioritize business needs and plan solutions to ensure that each release provides business value to end-users, sales, and marketing.
Manages external vendor partners to deliver key capabilities.
Serves as a business owner for large projects, representing the segments across Anthem’s businesses.
Requires a BA/BS degree; 5 years of experience in product development, innovation, and/or product management in a Health or Managed Care organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.
Requires proven experience in developing digital health products (i.e. member health and wellness engagement platforms or applications) with success in building go-to-market strategies and launching product(s).
Member-centered or consumer-centered digital solutions design experience a plus!
Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems required.
Strongly prefer proven ability to drive business results in an Agile environment.
