Given Anthem’s scale, balance sheet, broad national reach and depth at the local market level, Anthem has established a new business unit called the Diversified Business Group. The Diversified Business Group is a solutions-oriented business unit within the Company that will support Anthem and other external clients in the pursuit of transforming healthcare.

Anthem’s Diversified Business Group (DBG) is seeking a Manager to join our Integrated Business Development team to drive and capture new business growth for our integrated whole person health products. The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in informing the integrated product roadmap and developing strategic go to market plans to achieve our DBG growth targets. The successful candidate will combine a strong understanding of the broad healthcare market with a drive to bring new products to market that provide whole person health solutions.

Position Location: New York, NY

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Create strategic and tactical go to market plans to support our integrated products. Analyze and digest competitor, customer and market intelligence to inform and support the product roadmap.

  • Partner with business unit sales teams to identify, target, and secure new integrated product business. Develop sales collateral to support these pipeline opportunities.

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders, functional teams, marketing, sales and account management teams to achieve integrated sales goals. Serve as the connection point across cross-functional teams to drive better product and pipeline decisions.

  • Partner with Finance to develop integrated pricing models aligned to DBG’s growth strategy.

  • Establish and maintain positive and long-lasting relationships with customers, employees, peers and management.

  • Manage tracking and reporting of pipeline opportunities. Prepare updates of account status and progress of integrated pipeline opportunities for senior leadership.


Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare services, strategy, investment, sales or partnerships; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Client-facing business development, account management, and/or account sales experience in healthcare industry with demonstrated results.

  • Superior creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Personal leadership qualities, including an ability to drive change and accomplish challenging goals by working with others

  • Great desire to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
