Program Administrator (Health Promotion and Public Health)

Work Location - Kentucky

Responsible for the administration of Health Promotion Program iniaitives within the Population Health model. Program administrators typically support business strategies through an integrated portfolio of external client facing projects or initiatives. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Administers the implementation and compliance of Public Health and Health Promotion programs for Medicaid members in Kentucky;

  • Develops and maintains partnerships with providers and community-based organizations, such as school districts, public health agencies, providers, Head Start and law enforcement partners to advance public health priorities, improve gaps in care and gain an understanding of cultural and linguistic needs of our members.

  • Researches applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry and regional trends within the Commonwealth of KY.

  • Promotes health plan programs and services with effective messaging to members, providers and community-based organizations on topics such as diabetes prevention, tobacco cessation, nutrition, exercise, immunizations, health screenings, dental care, suicide prevention and telehealth.

  • Facilitate and train partners on new program development.

  • Creates process documents and trains team members on new and existing programs; provides subject matter expertise in response to day-to-day business issues;

  • Develops program success measures and performs routine assessment initiatives and programs to ensure objectives are met.

  • Effectively manages, tracks, and reports on grant program progress, as applicable

  • Schedules, conducts and attends meetings, supports management in overall objectives, assesses costs and savings and may assist in the payment of vendor invoices.

  • Able to develop and present health education and promotion programs such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations

  • Compiles and evaluates complex data and able to prepare and deliver presentations.

  • Create informational and culturally competent material to promote public health messages and health education programs and services

  • Collaborates and creates positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders, such as Quality Management, Marketing Outreach and Population Health teams.

  • Experience developing health and education programs.

  • Salesforce knowledge a plus.

  • Up to 50% travel may be required; occasional overnight travel as needed

Requires a BA/BS in public health; 2 plus years of experience in external client facing program or other healthcare related field; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Professional designation related to field or project management experience preferred.
