The Regulatory Reporting Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of external financial statements and all related filings. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to: •Prepares financial statements using the general ledger system and specific financial statement preparation software. •Assists with responses to government and/or regulatory agencies requests and questions. •Provides information for external audits. •Participates in the evaluation of anticipated transactions and assists with implementing needed changes to the financial statements and related disclosures, including the impact on risk-based capital
The Regulatory Accounting Analyst is responsible for external accounting consistencies and interpretation of new accounting pronouncements. Issues papers, prepares and compiles one or more of the following financial statements: Statutory Annual and Quarterly Financial Reports, Annual Statutory Audited Statement, Form 10-K and/or Form 10-Q. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: •Coordinates and compiles financial statements. •Resolves outstanding issues and files with appropriate regulatory agencies. •Interfaces with departments and management to communicate concerns and resolve issues. •Develops standard and ad-hoc performance analysis reports. •May prepare technical accounting position memorandums, coordinates and compiles annual and semi-annual Risk-Based Capital (property & casualty and health) calculations for company, and/or maintains and updates financial analysis packages given to senior management for comparison between GAAP, BCBSA, and statutory accounting analysis. •Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications-Regulatory Reporting Accountant •Requires BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; 1 year of related accounting experience; or any combination of education and experience, which provides an equivalent background. •Statutory accounting and/or SEC reporting experience preferred.
Qualifications-Regulatory Reporting Accountant Analyst •BS/BA in finance or accounting required. MBA, CMA and/or CPA preferred. •5+ years of directly related experience required. •Previous experience involving the application of statutory accounting principles or and/or SEC reporting experience is preferred.
