Actuarial Analyst III – Medicare (Part D)

Preferred Location: Indianapolis, IN or Waukesha, WI

Alternate Locations: Mason, OH; Louisville, KY; St. Louis, MO; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA

The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies. The primary responsibility for this role is to support the development of the Part D bids. Prior pharmacy, and/or Medicare Part D experience and understanding key concepts such as formulary, drug tiers and market dynamics in the space is a plus. Most of the analysis is done in excel and SQL. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills and ability to communicate well with other fellow actuaries.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.

  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.

  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.



  • Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Medicare experience beneficial; Part D preferred.

  • Proficient in MS Excel preferred.
