Program Manager, Pharmacy:
The Program Manager, Pharmacy will be responsible for the development and ongoing internal management of Anthem’s Pharmacy-related programs and initiatives for Medi-Cal recipients. The Program manager will collaborate closely with team leadership and other internal departments to support business strategies through an integrated portfolio of internal and external initiatives, and may have responsibility for contributing to the development of larger enterprise/regional external pharmacy-related programs. The Program manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing internal program models; for developing policies, processes and workflows; for coordinating with team members on day-to-day program operations; for coordinating local program status and evaluation efforts, and for ensuring that all program requirements are met as outlined in Department of Health Care Services All Plan Letter 20-020.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serves as Pharmacy Liaison with the Department of Health Care Services, Magellan, L.A. Care, and Anthem contracted provider groups.
Manages and coordinates the development, approval, implementation and compliance of on-going pharmacy-related programs.
Develops program budgets, ensures programs meet stated objectives, develops program success measures, and performs periodic assessments of program success.
Develops and ensures delivery of mandated reports and Drug Utilization Review programs.
Provides subject matter expertise in response to day-to-day pharmacy-related business issues.
Develops training plans related to pharmacy related programs.
Generating reports from third-party databases or analytics
Researches applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry trends.
Requires a BA/BS degree in healthcare, public administration or related field, plus 5-7 years of program/project management experience related to external client facing programs; or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
Graduate degree preferred.
Experience in working with the Medi-Cal population and/or administration of pharmacy programs preferred.
Experience working with local agencies preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Project management certification preferred.
Must have strong PC skills (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook).
