Project Director (Value-Based Care)

Preferred Location: New Hampshire, Ohio, Indiana, or Virginia

Position is able to be remote with the selected applicant needing to reside within a commutable distance to an Anthem office

Open to other locations for the most qualified applicant; need to be within the EST area

The Project Director (Value-Based Care) is responsible for managing multiple projects of varying sizes and duration including large projects from a global perspective that incorporates both the business and technical aspects of the project. In addition, demonstrates the ability to identify key people to bring about change and understands underlying cultural dynamics to develop a network of contacts and target specific people to achieve project goals and objectives. Possesses awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change, demonstrates a solid understanding of the end to end business processes and the critical IT dependencies as well as knowledge of additional regions and Enterprise needs.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages projects across business units, regions or the enterprise.

  • Influences at all levels within the organization, often setting strategy and direction.

  • Coaches and mentors project team members; mentors other project managers around project management methodology.

  • Determines project scope; develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans; develops training plans; defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products;

  • Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms.

  • Develops requirements documents; develops project approval matrix; identifies project team training and tool needs.

  • Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase; defines critical success factors; establishes and manages the project warranty period.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 9 years professional project management experience, which at least 7 years are spent leading and directing large project tasks; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change and demonstration of a solid understanding of end to end business processes and the critical IT dependencies strongly preferred.

  • Masters in Project Mgt preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Managed care or prior experience in the health care industry, including provider risk contracting highly desired.
